JoAnne Breault Portrait“I am a creator. My goal is to narrate a vivid story through digital storytelling. I curate content through photography, videography and the words that I spill on a page. If I can evoke some type of emotion in my viewer and infuse my own perception of the world, I have accomplished something.”

My History

I grew up in Massachusetts and I find inspiration in the New England landscape. Living near the ocean and observing the dramatic changes in the seasons shapes my writing and photography.

I graduated from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. I worked in broadcasting for over twenty years for several Fortune 500 corporations: Telecommunications Inc., Cox Communications, AT&T, Media One, and Comcast.

As a member of a winning television production team in Public, Educational, and Government Programming, I attended many conferences and learned the newest technologies within the cable industry.

Passion for Public Relations and Writing

While working in the media, I thrived in a PR environment. My passion for PR motivated me to return to college and seek a Master’s Degree. My background in community relations and my experience creating original content provided a strong foundation to transition into social media.

Advanced Degree

I received my Master’s Degree in Professional Writing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and concentrated in Public Relations. I demonstrate  strong writing skills through the many press releases published in the newspapers that serve our community. Generating positive publicity for the many organizations that I work for demonstrates my knowledge of PR.

Higher Education, Public Safety, Healthcare, and Technology represent some of my areas of expertise.

Lifelong Learning

I am a  member of the American Marketing Association, the Publicity Club of New England and the Public Relations Society of America.Through professional development, research, and education, I attain a level of expertise.

My commitment to lifelong learning includes

  • attending conferences and workshops
  • promoting advocacy and honesty
  • keeping up with the latest trends
  • furthering my education

Commitment to Public Service

I believe in the laws of reciprocity. By performing volunteer work, I learned some of my best job skills . I fulfill my  goal of giving something back to my community by sharing my talents with non-profit organizations.

While embracing  the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I volunteered at Gifts To Give, a recycling warehouse in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Students, staff and faculty from UMass Dartmouth performed community service in celebration of Martin Luther King Day.

I also perform public relations work for Somerset TRIAD and the Greater Fall River Medical Reserve Corps.

Excellent Customer Service

I solve problems. I learned some very important business skills while working for  several Fortune 500 corporations.

I learned to:

  • practice Customer First Contact Resolution
  • resolve a problem the first time I communicate with the customer
  • recognize the value of a customer
  • realize it is more cost effective to retain a current customer than to replace one

PR is all about creating and maintaining relationships. I look at every experience as an opportunity to forge a relationship and make a new customer happy.
